Some moisture or frost can occur inside a refrigerated appliance, but excessive ice build-up may affect cooling performance.
Common Causes of Ice Build-Up
Ice formation may be increased by:
Frequent door opening
Leaving the door open for long periods
The door not closing completely
An incorrectly positioned door seal
A very cold temperature setting
Warm or humid air entering the cabinet
Check the Door
Make sure:
No bottles or shelves are obstructing the door
The gasket sits evenly around the door
The appliance is level
The door closes tightly
Check the Temperature Setting
The INTEGRA can be adjusted between 3°C and 18°C.
If excessive ice develops, check whether the appliance is set much colder than required.
Defrosting the Appliance
If excessive ice is present, the manual recommends carrying out a manual defrost.
Before cleaning or defrosting:
Disconnect the appliance from the mains
Remove the contents
Allow the ice to melt naturally
Wipe away excess water using dry cloths or paper towels
The drip tray may overflow if a large amount of ice melts, so monitor the appliance during defrosting.
Do not use sharp tools, heaters or other equipment to accelerate the process, as this may damage the refrigeration system.
