My Subcold INTEGRA Is Not Cooling Properly

If your Subcold INTEGRA wine cooler is not cooling as expected, there are several checks you can carry out before contacting Customer Service.

The INTEGRA Series uses a compressor cooling system and has an adjustable temperature range of 3°C to 18°C. Performance can be affected by the temperature setting, room conditions, ventilation and how often the door is opened.

Check the Temperature Setting

Make sure the appliance is switched on and the required temperature has been selected.

To adjust the temperature:

  • Press the temperature control button

  • When the temperature begins flashing, use the + or – buttons

  • The temperature can be adjusted between 3°C and 18°C

  • After approximately 5 seconds without pressing a button, the display returns to showing the actual internal temperature

Please allow sufficient time for the appliance to reach the new setting.

Check the Room Temperature

The INTEGRA Series is designed to operate in an ambient room temperature of approximately 16°C to 32°C.

Very hot or cold surroundings can affect cooling performance and may cause the internal temperature to fluctuate.

The appliance should not be installed in:

  • Garages

  • Sheds or outbuildings

  • Unheated rooms

  • Direct sunlight

  • Areas close to radiators, cookers or other heat sources

Check the Ventilation

Adequate ventilation is essential.

The INTEGRA manual specifies a minimum clearance of:

  • 5 mm on both sides

  • 5 mm at the rear

Make sure ventilation openings are not obstructed.

Check the Door

Make sure:

  • The door closes completely

  • Bottles or shelves are not preventing it from closing

  • The door seal is correctly positioned

  • The appliance is level

Frequent or prolonged door opening allows warm air into the cabinet and can increase the time required to reach the selected temperature.

Has the Cooler Recently Been Loaded?

If room-temperature bottles have recently been placed inside, the cooler will need additional time to remove the heat from them.

During this period:

  • Keep the door closed as much as possible

  • Allow additional cooling time

  • The side panels may feel warm while the appliance is cooling — this is normal during initial cooling

Check for Ice Build-Up

If excessive ice is present, the manual recommends carrying out a manual defrost.

Do not use sharp objects, heaters or other equipment to speed up defrosting, as this may damage the cooling system.
