If the temperature shown on your fridge’s LCD panel appears significantly different from the reading on a thermometer inside the appliance, the display may be set to Fahrenheit rather than Celsius.
Follow the steps below to change the display unit and set the required temperature.
Change the Display to Celsius
Press and hold the light button on the LCD control panel.
This will switch the temperature display between:
Fahrenheit (°F)
Celsius (°C)
Once the display shows Celsius, you can adjust the temperature using the control panel.
Set the Desired Temperature
To change the temperature setting:
Press and hold the star key for approximately 3 to 5 seconds.
Wait until you hear a beep.
Use the up or down arrow buttons to select the required temperature.
The LCD panel will display the selected temperature for approximately three seconds.
The display will then return to showing the current temperature inside the fridge.
Please note that the temperature shown after the three-second period is the fridge’s current internal temperature, not the selected target temperature.
Allow the Temperature to Stabilise
The fridge will gradually cool or warm to the selected setting over the following few hours.
The time required can vary depending on:
The room temperature
How frequently the door is opened
The number of items inside
The temperature of newly added items
The ventilation space around the appliance
For quicker cooling, place pre-chilled drinks or products inside the fridge where possible.
Avoid adding a large quantity of warm items at once, as this can temporarily increase the internal temperature.
Comparing the LCD Display with a Thermometer
Some variation between the LCD display and a separate thermometer can be normal.
The LCD sensor measures the temperature at a particular point inside the appliance, while a thermometer placed elsewhere may show a slightly different reading.
For a more reliable comparison:
Place the thermometer near the back of the middle shelf.
Keep the fridge door closed.
Allow several hours for the reading to stabilise.
Avoid checking immediately after opening the door.
Avoid measuring immediately after adding room-temperature items.
The air temperature inside a fridge can change quickly when the door is opened, while the temperature of stored liquids changes more gradually.
Reset the Fridge
If the display does not respond correctly or the fridge does not appear to reach the selected temperature, try resetting the appliance:
Switch the fridge off at the mains.
Unplug it from the power supply.
Leave it switched off for 24 hours.
Reconnect the appliance and switch it on.
Change the display to Celsius if required.
Set the desired temperature again using the star key and arrow buttons.
Allow the fridge several hours to stabilise.
