The way the interior light operates can vary depending on the Subcold fridge model. Some models use an automatic door-activated light, while others have a manual switch or a light control button on the LCD display.
Before assuming there is a fault, first identify which lighting system your fridge uses.
Automatic Door-Activated Lights
The Subcold Cave series is designed so that the internal LED light switches on automatically when the fridge door is opened.
If the light does not come on, possible causes include:
A loose connection to the LED light module
A faulty LED module
A problem with the door switch
The appliance not receiving power correctly
Check the Power Supply
First, confirm that the fridge is receiving power.
Check that:
The appliance is securely plugged in.
The wall socket is switched on.
The fridge is cooling normally.
The display or other indicators are illuminated, where fitted.
If the fridge is not cooling or showing any signs of power, the issue may be with the electrical supply rather than the interior light.
Check the LED Connection
Switch off the fridge and unplug it from the mains power supply before inspecting the light.
Where the connection is safely accessible, check that the LED light module is securely connected and that no visible connectors have become loose.
Do not pull, cut, alter, or attempt to repair any wiring. If the connection cannot be accessed safely, contact Subcold Customer Service for assistance.
Check the Door Switch
Automatic interior lights are controlled by a switch that detects when the fridge door is opened or closed.
Depending on the model, this may be a small push switch positioned around the door frame.
Check that the switch:
Moves freely
Is not stuck in the closed position
Is not obstructed by dirt or packaging
Activates the light when gently pressed and released
Do not force the switch or use a sharp object to operate it.
If the switch appears damaged or the light remains off, the door switch or LED module may require replacement.
Manually Operated Interior Lights
Some Subcold fridge models do not switch the interior light on automatically when the door is opened.
Instead, they have a manual light switch located inside the appliance, usually on the right-hand side.
To operate the light:
Open the fridge door.
Locate the light switch inside the appliance.
Press or move the switch to turn the light on.
Use the same switch to turn the light off when it is no longer required.
Check that the switch moves correctly and has been fully placed in the on position.
Remember to switch the light off manually. Leaving it on continuously may increase energy consumption and slightly raise the temperature inside the appliance.
VIVA and VINO Interior Lights
On VIVA and VINO models, the interior light is controlled using the light button on the LCD display.
The light does not necessarily switch on automatically when the door is opened.
To operate the light:
Make sure the fridge is connected to the power supply and switched on.
Locate the light button on the LCD control panel.
Press the light button once to switch the interior light on.
Press the same button again to switch the light off.
If the light does not operate, check whether the LCD display and other controls are working correctly.
If the control panel is functioning but the light remains off, the issue may relate to the LED module, the light button, the control panel, or an internal connection.
The Light Appears Dim
A dim interior light may be caused by:
A loose LED connection
A failing LED module
Condensation around the light housing
An unstable electrical supply
Dirt or an obstruction covering the light
Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning the light cover.
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the area thoroughly before reconnecting the fridge. Do not spray water or cleaning products directly onto the light or any electrical components.
The Light Is Flickering
A flickering light may indicate:
A loose electrical connection
A failing LED module
A faulty door switch
Moisture around the light fitting
A problem with the control panel
An unstable electrical supply
Switch off and unplug the fridge if the light flickers continuously, produces a buzzing sound, becomes unusually hot, or is accompanied by a burning smell.
Do not continue using the appliance until the issue has been investigated.
When to Contact Support
Contact Subcold Customer Service if:
The automatic light does not operate after checking the power supply and door switch.
The internal manual switch does not turn the light on.
The VIVA or VINO light button does not operate the interior light.
The LCD display is not responding.
The light flickers or switches off intermittently.
The LED module appears damaged.
The door switch is loose, stuck, or broken.
There is a burning smell, excessive heat, buzzing, or visible electrical damage.

The serial number
Your order number or proof of purchase
A photograph or short video showing the issue
