If your Subcold AIRE fridge appears to switch on and off during operation, this is usually normal and does not necessarily indicate a fault.

The appliance is designed to operate intermittently rather than run continuously.

Why the Fridge Cycles On and Off

The AIRE fridge uses an internal thermostat to control the cooling system.

The thermostat monitors the temperature inside the appliance and automatically:

• Switches the cooling system on when the internal temperature rises

• Switches the cooling system off once the selected temperature has been reached

• Restarts cooling when the temperature increases again

This cycling helps the fridge maintain the chosen temperature while reducing unnecessary power consumption.

Fan Operation

The fan may also start and stop as part of the normal cooling cycle.

You may notice that:

• The fan runs for a period of time

• The fan stops once the required temperature is reached

• The fan starts again when additional cooling is needed

This is expected behaviour.

The frequency of the cycle can vary depending on:

• The thermostat setting

• The surrounding room temperature

• How often the door is opened

• The number and temperature of items inside

• The ventilation space around the appliance

Red and Green Indicator Lights

The red and green lights indicate the current status of the cooling system.

Depending on the stage of operation, the light may change as the cooling system switches on or off.

The indicator lights do not necessarily mean the appliance has lost power or developed a fault. They are used to show whether the cooling system is actively operating.

When Cycling May Be More Frequent

The fridge may switch on more frequently when:

• The room temperature is high

• The door is opened repeatedly

• Warm items are placed inside

• The thermostat is set towards MAX

• Ventilation around the appliance is restricted

• The appliance has recently been switched on

It may remain off for longer when:

• The room temperature is cooler

• The fridge is lightly loaded

• The door remains closed

• The selected temperature has already been reached

Check the Fridge Is Operating Normally

To confirm that the cycling is normal, check that:

• The interior temperature remains within the expected range

• The appliance restarts automatically when cooling is required

• The fan runs without grinding or scraping noises

• The power supply remains connected

• The ventilation openings are clear

• The door closes and seals correctly

A separate fridge thermometer can be placed near the back of the middle shelf to monitor the temperature over several hours.

When to Contact Support

Contact Subcold Customer Service if:

• The appliance repeatedly loses all power

• The interior light or indicators switch off unexpectedly

• The fan starts and stops every few seconds

• The fridge does not restart after the temperature rises

• The interior becomes too warm

• The indicator light flashes or appears dim

• The power adapter becomes unusually hot

• The appliance produces repeated clicking, grinding, or buzzing sounds

When contacting support, please provide:

• The fridge model

• The serial or batch number

• Your order number

• The thermostat setting

• The approximate room temperature

• A description or video of the on-and-off cycle

• Confirmation of whether the fridge is cooling correctly
